Desperate and Dateless Ball will benefit Lightning Ridge SES

The Lightning Ridge SES is set to benefit from NOW-FM's Desperate and Dateless Ball to be held at the Lightning Ridge Hotel Motel on Saturday, February 10. Lightning Ridge Hotel Motel manager, Amanda Turner, and NOW-FM Program Director, Tim Pankhurst, decided to donate the gold coin door charge to the local SES in recognition of the important role the unit plays' in the area.

"We've planned the ball for February 10 to give desperate and date-less people a last minute opportunity to find true love before Valentines Day on the 14th!" Mr. Pankhurst joked.

'Armidale band, Bastille, will be entertaining on the night, the NOW-FM Disco will play the hits while the band takes a breather, and we've organised some extra special prizes including a weekend for two in Dubbo," he said." The dress theme will be The Good, The Bad and The Sexy" with prizes for the best dressed single girl, best dressed single man, and best dressed couple.

'We want to make the night a memorable one so some of the NOW-FM announcers will be there to play Cupid, and we're planning. a few surprises too. Even though it's a Desperate and Dateless Ball we want to see lots of couples there as well to help make it a fun night, and perhaps give a few pointers to the singles on how to find their perfect match.
