New opal prospecting block release

On the 18th September 2001, the Department of Mineral resources will release 4 new Opal Prospecting Blocks.

The blocks are located on "Roxburgh" and "Wyoming" and are numbered 173 and 175 ,Roxburgh and Wyoming are numbered 192 and 193. A copy of a map for each property is available at the Mining registrar's office.

The landholder of each property must be contacted before any prospective driller or miner enters the land to inspect the new prospecting blocks.

The release will be conducted by ballot, depending on the amount of applications received) at the Mining Registrar's office at lot 60 Morilla Street, Lightning Ridge at 9.30a.m. on the 18th. September 2001.

All persons interested in taking out one of the new blocks must be in attendance at the Mining Registrar's office before 9.30a.m. on the 18th. September 2001 and must have a completed Opal prospecting Licence application and the relative $250.00 application fee to lodge with the application. No bulk application lodgements will be accepted.

No person arriving after 9.30a.m. on the 18th. September 2001 will be allowed to enter the ballot. For further information please contact the Mining Registrar's office on 0268 290678.
